Another case of zero-tolerance absurdity

Ashley Smithwick said she had never gotten in trouble before and was surprised when the principal opened her lunchbox and found the knife.

The teen was initially given a 10-day suspension, then received notice that she was suspended the rest of the school year.

The knife in question? A very small knife, one you might use to peel an apple.  So, one stupid, gutless principal might ruin this girl’s life, and her chance at college over this? Take common sense out of the equation, and judgment out as well, and this is the type of thing you end up with. A good kid treated like a common thug.

Oh no! Not another boycott from the self-appointed moarlity wing of the GOP!

A couple of groups are vowing to boycott CPAC this year because the group GOPProud, a Gay Republican group was invited. Hmmm, why would they take a “I will take my ball and go home” attitude? Why not act like adults, and go, have some discourse, find out where they agree/disagree with GOPProud? Perhaps there is more in common between these groups than not?

Frankly, if I attend CPAC, which I would like to, or not depends on work, not on who is attending. Frankly, I have problems with some of the Nanny Statism I hear from the groups that have their panties in a bunch. So what? Does not mean I would not go just because they were going to be there. Likewise with GOPProud. I might not like everything that group stands for either. Again SO WHAT?

Frankly, the Concerned Women for America and the Family Research Council ought to be bigger than they are being about this. Their boycott is nothing but a childish stunt  in my view.

Two of the nation’s premier moral issues organizations, the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America, are refusing to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in February because a homosexual activist group, GOProud, has been invited.

“We’ve been very involved in CPAC for over a decade and have managed a couple of popular sessions. However, we will no longer be involved with CPAC because of the organization’s financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principles,” said Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRC Action.

“CWA has decided not to participate in part because of GOProud,” CWA President Penny Nance told WND.

FRC and CWA join the American Principles Project, American Values, Capital Research Center, the Center for Military Readiness, Liberty Counsel, and the National Organization for Marriage in withdrawing from CPAC. In November, APP organized a boycott of CPAC over the participation of GOProud.

There is also a good deal of dismay over the growing Libertarian attitude among many Republicans. Frankly, the GOP should embrace more of the Libertarian ideals, not all necessarily, but many of them. The fact is the more we can remove government from our lives, ALL areas of our lives, the better! Some “Social Conservatives” are all for embracing small government, until something offends them. Then they want the FCC to crack down on TV, then they start carping about “public airwaves” and “community standards” to beat the band. Of course, now their mantra about5 public airwaves is being used by Liberals like Al Sharpton to try and use the FCC to control Conservative talkers like Rush Limbaugh.

The sad fact is this, once you invite the government into your home to control your TV, or your community standards, so you will not be offended, that same government will soon be in every room of your house. That same government will soon be controlling everything you do. The Social Conservatives ought to learn this lesson, and learn how to use the remote control as well. trust me it is pretty easy.

Again, boycotting CPAC just makes these groups look less Conservative and more like Liberals to me. If I were to advise them, I would say grow up and show up.

God Damn all you nutjobs who think that current local weather conditions have anything to do with global warming! Remember when it is cold in the summertime, or warm in the winter, that has nothing to do with global warming. Unless it is really hot in summer, or really warm in winter. Then it has EVERYTHING to do with global warming. But when it is cold in winter, or cooler than normal in summer, that is just bull shit.  Ignore it. In fact, blame it on anthropogenic global warming. Shut up, bitch–just do it.

Hey You Lucky Bastards…I’m Back!

Well…it’s all over over but but the crying. We won’t know for a few more days how we did, but all indications say that we did pretty good this year. Found out that we actually had 127,000 trees shipped instead of the original 123,000, and so far, we’ve sold over 120,000. Still a little ways to go to our target percentage of 98% sold, which is what we had last year.

I was very proud of my daughter, who helped out this year. She was our best worker and broke her dad’s,(me), record for hours worked. She had 362 hours, far eclipsing my previous record of 325 hours a couple of years ago. I would also venture to say that she also broke my mileage record, too. Oh… that’s hours worked in a month.

Just have to go back down to Fla after Christmas and clean up the remainder of the trees. Maybe hit the HardRock Casino one time.

U.S. teen birth rate at all time low

ATLANTA (AP) – “The U.S. teen birth rate in 2009 fell to its lowest point in almost 70 years of record-keeping – a decline that stunned experts who believe it’s partly due to the recession.”

“The birth rate for teenagers fell to 39 births per 1,000 girls, ages 15 through 19, according to a government report released Tuesday. It was a 6 percent decline from the previous year, and the lowest since health officials started tracking the rate in 1940.”

Blah blah BLAH!  Go read the article if you interested. I’m not. I think this is bullshit. I think somebody is lying, or somebody forgot to report, or somebody made a huge mathematical error. No. Fucking. Way.  The birth rate is not the lowest in my lifetime. I’ll bet my life on it.
