Religious “tolerance” does not extend to radical mosques

If P-E-A-C-E-F-U-L Mooselimbs want to build a Mosque right in my backyard, I don’t care.  Knock yourselves out.  Crazy Same is true of Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and any other religion.

But by God if you espouse terror and the imposition of Sharia law and “honor killings,”  and if you support the 9/11 terrorists, GTFO and expect great opposition from me.

If Fred Phelps wanted to build a Westboro Baptist Church next to a queer bar in San Francisco I imagine that he would face opposition.  Few if any would call his opponents “intolerant” or “bigots” or “racists.”  Likewise, few if any would claim that his opponents were violating spirit or the letter of the Constitution.

I’m as tolerant of your religious beliefs as you can imagine.  It’s your actions that I oppose.  You can believe in your 72 virgins and have your Ramadamn fasts and refrain from alcohol and encourage your ugly women to wear a burka.  I. Don’t. Care.  But when your actions start affecting society, when you behead people and chop off limbs and stone people, then you’ve crossed the line and I am no longer “tolerant” of your shitty little 14th century religious beliefs.

Do I have to write it in Sanscrit or whatever the hell worthless p.o.s. language you camel jockeys use to communicate in your Koran in order to make myself clear?

That is all.

John Doe

UPDATE: It’s Official.  Even Harry Reid agrees with John Doe!

“The First Amendment protects freedom of religion,” spokesman Jim Manley said in a statement. “Sen. Reid respects that but thinks that the mosque should be built some place else. If the Republicans are being sincere, they would help us pass this long overdue bill to help the first responders whose health and livelihoods have been devastated because of their bravery on 911, rather than continuing to block this much-needed legislation.”

Tolerate Mooselimbs, at a sufficient distance. Whooops. Poor old gramps. He likes to parrot the liberal party line, and now he has TWO competing liberal party lines! What is an old geezer without a sufficient number of brain cells to think for himself gonna do?  I’m betting Gramps–being a contrarian–will oppose whatever position the majority of conservatives adopt.  Stay tuned…

    Well stated JD…

Hawaii’s Domestication of Shinto… [bit of a lengthy read, historically interesting]

An American flag flying beside a Shinto shrine on the freeway to Pearl Harbor! An incredible sight one can encounter only in America. And only in Hawaii could it happen at such breathtaking speed… http://www.religion-online.org/showarticle.asp?title=1437

It’s absolutely the American Way doncha know…?

For some reason the “big guy” that employed a “Military Honor Guard” at his [most] recent wedding… didn’t quite grasp the nuance concerning freedom of religion, on his popular show this morning.
    Unfortunate.

  2. Yes, and the group looking to build a community center near Ground Zero IS a peaceful sect!

  3. “Tolerance” is a two-way street, as was made explicit in the various religious tolerance acts in the English-speaking world in the 17th-18th centuries. When Christians can proselytize in Saudi Arabia we’ll be ready for true mutual tolerance with Islam.

  4. Okay, Stacey, I’ll bite. I’ve heard that the group looking to build a mosque near ground zero is NOT tolerant. If I’m wrong, I’ll support them building there, but if I prove that you are wrong, will you oppose them building there?

Gramps, lemme axe you a question: Do you support the Westboro Baptist Church when they protest at funerals of G.I.s? If not, why not? They have a First Amendment RIGHT to protest there. The SAME First Amendment that protects ragheads’ right to build a Mosque near ground zero.

There is a difference between having a right to do something, and it being the right thing to do. MOVE the damn mosque you camel jockey flea infested third-worlders.

    The ADL writes…

Incorporated in 1967 as a not-for-profit organization, WBC considers itself an “Old School (or Primitive)” Baptist Church. WBC’s leader is Fred Phelps and several of his children and dozens of his grandchildren appear to constitute the majority of the group’s members. WBC has no official affiliation with mainstream Baptist organizations… http://www.adl.org/learn/ext_us/WBC/default.asp?LEARN_Cat=Extremism&LEARN_SubCat=Extremism_in_America&xpicked=3&item=WBC

Well…! As “Ronny Ray Gun said ”Do we have a conundrum here…?”

    Rand Paul might write…

“We will follow the Constitution of the United States of America as the beacon of and for all of our efforts to govern…”

Dammit, misery, oh misery…JD, ADL, Ronny Ray Gun, Paul Rand…
What’s an olde geezer to do …please, oh please Lord……gemme ah break…

Should we leave it as a rhetorical query for which Ronny Ray Gun, had no clue…?

    Hehehe…!

  6. Oh…Oooo…discord in LaLa Land…

Former Bush Adviser Mark McKinnon Rips GOP’s Stance On Mosque: ‘We’re Reinforcing Al Qaeda’s Message’

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has claimed that the new Islamic center project “would be like putting a Nazi sign next to the Holocaust Museum.”

Methinks it’s high time for the new, serially, married, with a Military Honor Guard, saluting… leader of the Republican Party [not you Newt] to weigh-in here…!

Are you there Mr. Limbaugh …?

  7. Gramps…tsk tsk…Rush Limbaugh isn’t a leader of the Republican party. He’s a voice for the Conservative movement.

  8. tmg…
I, always defer to the Master of Ceremony’s…
    Rush…!

  9. I don’t listen to Rush very much. I’d rather listen to the Bob McClain Show out of WORD in Spartanburg, SC. He talks about the same issues as Rush, Hannity and other Conservative pundits, but puts a local spin on things. Plus it’s easier to call in to his show, as I did today. We had a great discussion about the Ground Zero mosque. and whether or not union contractors would build it or call a general strike against building it.

  10. I, gotta admit…
    I’m the jerkbah here, Mike…
How did we come to this impasse…?

We had a great discussion about the Ground Zero mosque. and whether or not union contractors would build it or call a general strike against building it.

Way above my pay grade and no iron’s in the fire, here Mike…
    I’m, mostly on Rand Paul’s side here…

I’m at the VFW and the American Legion Hall, combined…and have had …
    Way too many beers…
    Cud yah call Momma…?

“We will follow the Constitution of the United States of America as the beacon of and for all of our efforts to govern…”

Sorry fer my earlier “cop-outs” mtg.

  11. BTW: these olde duffer’s, at the bar, get a real kick when you gent’s respond in “real time”…
    To my asinine queries…
    Hehehe…

    Carry yer “laptop” soldier…!

  12. I maintain that, while there may be peaceful individual Muslims, there is no such thing as peaceful or moderate Islam. This is based on Muslim doctrine itself. If you have any doubts about that, please read the books and articles by Serge Trifkovic regarding Islam.

By the way, here is something with regard to the Ground Zero site that I would like to draw to your attention and your readers’ attention. While the local bureaucrats and politicians are so intent on smoothing the way for the mosque, they have put every possible roadblock in the way of rebuilding the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, which was completely destroyed when the South Tower fell on it.

See Rebuild St. Nicholas CHURCH at Ground Zero, Not a Mosque for more information. Be sure to inform your US Senators and US Representative about this too; most of them are unaware of the issue.
