“According to an outline the company has been sharing privately with Washington legislators, the number of cars that GM sells in the United States and builds in Mexico, China and South Korea will roughly double.”
“More significantly, it raises fundamental questions about the purpose of bailing out these big companies.” [Said former labor secretary Robert B. Reich, now a professor at the University of California-Berkeley.] “If GM is going to do more of its production overseas, then why exactly are we saving GM?”
This story is rich on soooo many levels. Obama is bailing out GM because America supposedly needs GM. Obama is using our tax dollars to bail GM out, and handing over ownership–if he can get away with it–to the UAW. In order to pay them off for supporting his bid for the Presidency. Yet the unions are ruining GM, and forcing it to move jobs out of America. This shows the Law Of Unintended Consequences applies even to inexperienced community agitators. If George W. Bush did something like this it would be the 3″ headline of every newspaper in America.
