I won $1,500 playing Texas Hold ’em tourney last night

There is something immensely satisfying–aside from the money–about defeating 28 other guys who are all smart, savvy and experienced card sharks. Doctors, lawyers, accountants, business owners, executives. I don’t win the tournaments often, so when I do, I gloat.  Although I am in the top 10% of money winners over all. 

I think the state of our gambling laws are one of the stupidest things about our country.  Grown people cannot choose to gamble if they want.  How patronizing.  Or we allow American Indians a monopoly on it at least outside of Atlantic City and Nevada. Members of Indian tribes in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, get a yearly salary ($70k plus I believe) for doing nothing. For just being born with Indian blood in them. Pathetic.
