Keep in mind that the main reason for the bailout is the union workers supported him. Average wages and benefits for UAW workers for 2006 were from $141,000–$151,000. And most of the workers have a high school education. Great work if you can get it. And because their benefits grossly exceed Toyota, Honda and Nissan workers ($96,000) they cannot compete.
