Media Matters whining about Beck jokin’ on Malia

Awww, the poor dears at Media Matters are whining about Glenn Beck mocking Malia Obama for her quote, “Daddy, did you fix the oil leak yet?”

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy? Daddy? Daddy, did you plug the hole yet? Daddy?

PAT GRAY (co-host): (imitating Obama) No I didn’t, honey.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy, I know you’re better than [unintelligible]

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Mm-hmm, big country.

BECK: (imitating Malia) And I was wondering if you’ve plugged that hole yet.

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Honey, not yet.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Why not, daddy? But daddy–

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Not time yet, honey. Hasn’t done enough damage.

BECK: (imitating Malia) Daddy?

GRAY: (imitating Obama) Not enough damage yet, honey. Continue reading

A Warning To Blogaholics or Farmville Addicts…

Of course this would not apply to any of us (snark).  All sarcasm aside, it’s a unfortunate story – most unfortunate is the stupid woman is pregnant again!  Yikes!

via AP

A South Korean couple were convicted Friday of abandoning their newborn daughter, who starved to death while they addictively played an online game raising a virtual child.

The husband, a 41-year-old taxi driver, and his 25-year-old wife were sentenced to two years in prison, but the woman’s term was suspended because she is pregnant.

The couple played at Internet cafes on average 10 hours every day and bottle-fed their baby only once a day, prosecutors said in an affidavit.

The girl, who was born prematurely and weighed 5 pounds, was often fed rotten formula and was beaten when she cried out of hunger, the affidavit said.

They found her dead when they returned to their home in Suwon, just south of Seoul, after an all-night gaming session last September, the ruling said. They hid at a relative’s home after a autopsy found the baby died of malnutrition.

Douchebag Eruption

Ugly Douche Bag Blogger

There is no truth to the rumor that Nikki Haley has hired a team of experts to quash the current and future douchebag eruptions, ala Bill Clinton’s team in charge of quashing bimbo eruptions.

Sorry, I can’t take what is happening in the randy state to the south’s gooobernatorial race.   After first Mark Sanford and now the allegations against candidate Nikki Haley, one can understand my concern.  Does anyone in the Palmetto state keep their marriage vows?

Here’s my bottom line. I think probably something happened.  Homely blogger Will Folks claims that he had “an inappropriate physical relationship” with GOP candidate Nikki Haley.  Ms. Haley responded with an emphatic denial that she had ever been unfaithful to her husband.  I suspect that something “inappropriate” occurred, but not much.

Supposedly, there is a photo of “inappropriate physical conduct” between the two.  Can they be any less specific?  Here’s one of Bubba and Monica.  In retrospect, that could be considered “inappropriate physical conduct” between  a boss and his employee.

Hormones affect people in funny ways.  They even can cause hot babes to become temporarily attracted to god-awfully ugly men.  But that’s fine.  Even if some inappropriate physical relationship occurred, I do not condemn Ms. Haley. I’m against having Republican candidates judged by a different standard than Democrat candidates.  Continue reading

Can poison ivy spread person to person?

Last night at poker the discussion came up that a worker at one of the player’s house was afraid of some poison ivy.  I said I did not blame the worker because late in life I have developed a severe allergy to it.  The guy next to me (you know who you are Roland), jesting said something to the effect of “watch out, I have poison ivy”  and rubbed his hand on my  hand.  Not in a gay way, it was a manly manner.  I thought nothing further of it and continued to dominate the table until leaving with a $2,400 win (I won’t mention what happened at last week’s game).

Lo and behold I awoke this morning with what appears to be poison ivy reaction on my hand right where he rubbed his hand against mine.  Damn you urushiol!   All the websites that I searched pooh-poohed the idea of it spreading person to person unless the poison ivy had never been washed off the original person’s hand.  All I know is that my left hand appears to be having a reaction, and I have not been around ivy.  I haven’t had a reaction to it in several years because I am careful.  What up?

Governor Chris Christie is Reaganesque

Gatordoug’s excellent article at The Daley Gator got me to thinking.  Basically, a teacher complained that she was not being paid enough, and Gov. Christie eventually replied “Well then, you don’t have to do it [teach school].”   Go read the article

That got me to thinking about Ronald Reagan. I will wager that many are too young to remember what Reagan did during his first year as President.

Almost thirty years ago, on Aug. 3, 1981, 12,000 plus members of the Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization walked off the job.  In response,President Reagan issued an ultimatum:  he said the strikers were violating the law and that if they did not report to work within 48 hours, they would be fired.  (Sounds reminiscent of the school superintendent who fired all the teachers recently.) They didn’t, and he did.  Those who refused to return to work were fired.  And they never got their jobs back.  New workers were hired, and trained, and took the place of the strikers.  I can see Gov. Christie doing that.

Remember, Ronald Reagan had once been president of the actors’ union, the Screen Actors’ Guild.  [He was also a member of the Army Enlisted Reserve cavalry, back when they actually still rode horses?]  And he was just an ex-radio disc jockey and B list actor.  The controllers probably thought that they had the upper hand–I can not remember.  Their work was essential and a walk-out paralyzed air traffic.  To top it off, the U.S. President had once been the president of a union.  Instead, without debate or discussion, he gave them his ultimatum.  Liberals screamed and hollered and generally carried on as you might expect.  But he said it, and he meant it, and he carried out his threat.

There were reasons why Reagan was elected by carrying almost every state in the union twice.  He was a leader who was not afraid to tackle tough issues.  Chris Christie appears to be cut from the same cloth.

In contrast, President Obama would probably join their picket line, and lobby to have all their demands met.  He might have a touchy-feely gripe session to allow the strikers to air their grievances.  But you know he would not fire them.  The Mau-Mauer in Chief has his nose so far up the union leaders’ arses that he see whether or not they have ever had tonsilectomies.

I’m keeping my eye on Gov. Christie.  I just wish he was from a Red State.  Voting for anybody from a Blue State scares me.

Peggy Noonan: “He was supposed to be competent”

I usually do not see eye to eye with Ms. Noonan, but she has an excellent article in the WallStreetJournal that nails Obama for his incompetence in general and on specific political disasters, namely the health care debate, illegal immigration and now the oil spill.

Her main complaint seems to be that since his inauguration Obama has not “been in sync with the center:”

“[Obama] continues to govern in a way that suggests he is chronically detached from the central and immediate concerns of his countrymen. This is a terrible thing to see in a political figure, and a startling thing in one who won so handily and shrewdly in 2008. But he has not, almost from the day he was inaugurated, been in sync with the center. The heart of the country is thinking each day about A, B and C, and he is thinking about X, Y and Z. They’re in one reality, he’s in another.”

I suppose it comes from her political background as a speech writer, but she seems more concerned with his political ineptness than with the disastrous effect his political ineptitude is having on our country.  Perhaps I am nitpicking at an otherwise excellent article.  She believes that the up to half of Democrats who voted for Hillary have never gotten over their disappointment that she lost, and will start to peel away their support of him.  She rightly points out that James Carville already is signalling that it is acceptable to do so because of Obama’s mishandling of the oil spill.  When you’ve lost James Carville I might have written if I was not intentionally avoiding cliché’s. ;)

One thing that I do not agree with her on is her concern that this could ruin his presidency.  I am almost giddy with anticipation, while she sounds as though such ruination will be calamitous.

“The disaster in the Gulf may well spell the political end of the president and his administration, and that is no cause for joy. It’s not good to have a president in this position—weakened, polarizing and lacking broad public support—less than halfway through his term. That it is his fault is no comfort. It is not good for the stability of the world, or its safety, that the leader of “the indispensable nation” be so weakened. I never until the past 10 years understood the almost moral imperative that an American president maintain a high standing in the eyes of his countrymen.”

Does she not remember how the Democrats ruined George W. Bush’s presidency with reckless abandon.  Sure, it was terrible for President Bush and the GOP, but our country survived with no ill effect that I could observe.  I don’t care how Obama’s presidency is ended, I just want it to go away.

Perhaps this was Bill and Hillary’s evil plan all along?  Allow an incompetent polarizing communist to be elected to the presidency and then anything even slightly to the right of him would seem attractive in 2012.  I give her until just after the 2010 elections to submit her resignation and to begin campaigning for president.  She’ll claim it as her duty–that even though she has been a loyal worker bee for Obama–after the disastrous 2010 elections and the loss of the House and/or the Senate that in order to save the party and the country she is reluctantly running for president.  I won’t buy it, but that is the plan, man.  Bet on it.  And go read Noonan’s article.

What do all y’all think?

Arlen Specter: America’s most despicable Senator?

Pond scum.  Slime layer.  Arlen Specter.  Used toilet paper.  Dead ‘possum.   Skunk.  Trash.   Arlen Specter.  Bovine excrement.  Stale urine.   Messy diapers.      Arlen Specter.  Disease.  Pestilence.  Death. Rotten eggs. Puke. Arlen Specter. unscrupulous. Cowardly. Unprincipled. Moronic.  Arlen Specter.  Die. Egg sucking-pig DIE!

We knew he was a son of a bitch, but for a while  he was our son of a bitch.  But few knew exactly what a self-serving only in it for himself worthless piece of shit he was.  He was always one of if not the most liberal Republican Senators.  At least in recent years.  But when faced with criticism from the right, and a possible loss in the Republican primaries, he jumped ship and became a Democrat.  Fine. Didn’t bother me, he was almost a Democrat when he was on our side.  Besides, he should still be one of the least liberal Democratic Senators.

But then, when confronted with a Democratic Senator from his left, he immediately voted (according to the Washington Post) with the Democrat party line 96% of the time in the current Congress.  But he still lost, Hallelujah!

Now, the left is worried that the unscrupulous bastard will suddenly start becoming more conservative now that he has lost the Dem primary, and he has nothing to gain or lose by voting 96% with the Democrats.  I should be happy–one less scum bag voting the Democrat Party line.  Instead, I hope the old bastard dies a slow and agonizing death Sen. Specter retires and is never heard from again.

At least liberal and progressive Senators are fighting for something that they believe in–even if what they are fighting for is terrible for America.  Sen. Specter is only fighting for Senator Specter.  What a pathetic man.  Good riddance.
