Newsbusters crushes notion that Bush tax cuts caused current deficit

The money quotes in article by Noel Sheppard (but still a must read):

“In fiscal 2000 before the Bush tax cuts, our government brought in $2.025 trillion in unified revenues while spending $1.789 trillion. Seven years later, before the recession hit, we received $2.568 trillion, a 27 percent increase. BUT, our expenditures rose to $2.729 trillion, a 53 percent rise….

“In 2009, we brought in $2.105 trillion in tax receipts. Bear in mind that even with a recession this was still greater than BEFORE the Bush tax cuts were implemented. BUT, we spent $3.517 trillion, or 97 percent more than BEFORE the Bush tax cuts.”

Seven Dirty Words, or, I hate you [expletive] political correct word nazis

Yesterday, some dude in the WaPo wrote ”The case against banning the word ‘retard.’” Part of his “reasoning” of why it is logically consistent to ban the word nigger but not “retard” is because supposedly in the 1970s that word was not derogatory.  Bullshsit.  I was alive in the 70s, and we routinely insulted our grade school classmates by calling them retards.  George Carlin is probably rolling over in his grave over the Poltical Correctness crowd trying to dictate what words we cannot say.  Carlin fought all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court for the right to say “the seven dirty words” on public airways (by a 5-4 margin the Court upheld the power of the F.C.C. to regulate indecent material on the public airwaves).

I did not realize that the Special Olympics was headed up by a bunch of retards.  They have organized a national day of “awareness”–March 3–and have 60,000 people signed up to support the following pledge:  “I pledge and support the elimination of the derogatory use of the r-word from everyday speech and promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.”  Here is the website if you are a retard too:  “Spread the word to end the word.” To the rest of you who aren’t  retards, thank you for being adults.

I thought it was wrong when Sarah Palin demanded Rahm Emanuel’s resignation for using the word RETARD, but I loved the irony of it, and the fact that she was in his face, because you know the liberals would  have done that to any Republican chief of staff who said that.  Of course, then her hypocrisy was exposed when she did not condemn Rush Limbaugh’s use of the word on the basis that it was “satire” when he did it.  As the article points out, a special exemption for “satire” doesn’t get you very far:  ”Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert took her up on it, calling Palin an “[expletive] retard” and adding, with a smile: “You see? It’s satire!”

To all you Politically Correct word-Nazis out there, I have this to say [NSFW]:  Continue reading
