“Does this make me look too gay?”
“We need to be less partisan.”
“Maybe spending more money won’t solve the problem.”
“Can I donate some of my own money to help?”
“Maybe we are too liberal. Perhaps we should adopt the more moderate position.”
“A liberal radio show is the most listened to program in America.”
“MSNBC is politically biased.” [Applies equally to NPR, CNN, NYT, Snewsweek/Time/WaPo/LA Times, etc., ad nauseum.]
“Perhaps paying inner-city women to have babies without marrying the fathers wasn’t such a smart move after all.”
“Your taxes are too high.”
“Guns don’t kill people…”
“…in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Ohhh, what a nice picture of you on your boat waiting for Franki Boy to “climb aboard”.
I’ll bet Franki carries that photo in his wallet.
I’m guessin somebody has issues with her sexual orientation.
I LOVE when people hide . . . just more cowardly Liberal fags. Probably masturbating to the Butt Butt song/video!
Here are a few more:
“I enlisted.”
“I’m proud of America.”
“Government isn’t the solution, it’s the PROBLEM!”
“I felt crappy denying choice to the poor so I put my little darlings in public school, too.”
“Just cuz The Mess IIii Uuuuuhhh came to town doesn’t mean we are cool enough to show the same respect to 1000′s that lost their life in Vietnam”
THAT one really confused me. How can an organization that touts itself as a community news blog NOT cover the arrival/display of something so important http://www.vvmf.org/index.cfm?SectionID=3 …I guess no one in town REMEMBERS it…what a joke that blog is.
Taste the rainbow!
Another thing liberals don’t seem to do is waste inordinate amounts of time with petty personal attacks.
I don’t get how Republicans had the presidency and congress for six years yet two months into the new president’s term suddenly everyone is screaming about how their country has been plunging off a cliff. They had plenty of time to do all the good in the world, and they squandered that. Time to be graceful in defeat.
The issue here is partisanship, and this blog has the appearance of being highly partisan even as they accuse the other side.
Vote the issues, not the party- and don’t forget that civilized gentlemen can choose to disagree. Slinging mud does this country a disservice, as does this blog.
/registered Whig since Reagan.
libs no petty personal attacks? HAVE YOU HAD YOUR HEAD in your ass the past 9 years? They attacked Bush, Rush, Palin, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, Malkin, Cheney, EVERY DAMN CONSERVATIVE or Republican who dared stand up to them. The reason that you are a “Whig” is because you are too damned stupid, or you just keep your head in the sand. Take a look around. Sure, they don’t attack idiots like you–because you don’t matter. You do nothing, you don’t speak out, you sir, are a f@cking coward.
The wild assumptions and insulting, uncalled for attacks of your post underscore my point better than I could have done myself.
Wild assumptions? First, you flat out showed your ignorance: “Liberals don’t seem to waste an inordinate amounts of time with petty personal attacks. I pointed out that either you are a moron, ill-informed, or worse, a liar, to make such a stupid assed statement. You had zero credibility after that statement.
And SOME of us WERE screaming at Bush and the GOP in congress, spending like drunken soldiers, “No child left behind”, farm subsidy up the wazoo, Medicare prescription drugs, etc. Many GOP stayed home in protest thereafter (which allowed the Dems to take over) figuring that it could not get any worse with Dems in control. But they were wrong. Suddenly, Dems started wasting money even faster than the GOP.
You come in here, you don’t know me, you know nothing about me, and you start lecturing me about the GOP did this and the GOP did that. I’m officially an independent now. I held my nose and voted for McCain, figuring that he was only marginally better than Obama. It made me puke. I’m a conservative. If a Dem conservative ever gets nominated, I’ll vote for the Dem. But I am not responsible for what the GOP President and Congress did, get it, dickwad? And I am not going to sit back and let Obama and the Dems ruin this country just because the GOP did a shitty job when they were in there. F#CK losing gracefully. I’m mad as hell and I am NOT going to “lose gracefully” while those socialist bastards assault our Constitution, bankrupt our country, and sully this great nation. So get off your high horse and either be part of the solution, or GTFU.
And learn the f#cking definition of partisanship. I am not a Republican, you moron. I hate liberal and RINO Republicans almost as much as I do liberal democrats. I’m a CONSERVATIVE.
Civilized gentlemen my ass. Civilized just means that you don’t care enough to act uncivilized if that is called for. While “civilized” assholes like you do nothing, the liberals are gutting us and leaving our carcusses for the buzzards.
So when did you forsake your party?
Did you stick to your principles and leave when it all started to go wrong? Did you leave in 2003?
Or did you leave only after the Republicans became a laughingstock of their own ideals and the moniker itself became an embarassment? Did you leave in 2007?
Final question: If your ideals have remained the same and the Republicans are the conservative party, on what basis did you rationalize the personal revelation that you were actually an independent? Why the distinction?
Just how much of the moral high ground can you really claim?
p.s. – You aren’t fooling anyone with your claims of being independent. Seriously, just admit you are Republican. I know, I know, everyone’s ashamed to be one, but let’s be honest here – your views haven’t changed a bit since 1975. If ‘Republican’ was good enough of a word to describe your ideology for all these decades, it should still suit you just fine.
America is essentially a two party system. A vote for a third party candidate is essentially a wasted vote, in my opinion, when a vote for a candidate has zero chance of winning. So one is left with the choices of not voting, casting a wasted “protest vote”, or voting for the lesser of two evils.
There is a demonstrable difference between the two major parties. The republican candidates are “more conservative” than their democrat opponents, almost without exception (in Virginia, as far as I can remember, in elections in which I’ve had a vote, I’d say without exception). Hence, I’ve held my nose and voted for the republicans all these 20 plus years.
I’ve never claimed that “the Republicans are the conservative party.” They are, in comparison, more conservative then the democrat party. Hello. That is not something that I claim, it is a demonstrable truth. It is self-evident to any right-thinking individual. Deny that, and you prove yourself a nincompoop, or else somebody so contrary that you just want to argue for the sake of wasting my time. Can you say Troll?
Two final points. I’m ashamed of the Republican party, but not for the reasons that you might suspect. I’m ashamed of them because they are such sell outs, such hypocrites. They preach conservatism, but when elected and winning majority status, they transform into democrat clones, just as what happened in the book “Animal House.” And, to further illustrate how little you know of me, I voted for the worst President EVAH in 1975 (to my undying chagrin), so don’t tell me that my “views haven’t changed a bit since 1975.” I’m a walking talking Reagan Democrat.
So by your own words you are an independent, but a conservative, but a Democrat?
Wow. I bet *that’s* a helluva convention!
p.s.: … Animal Farm ….
Dude, there is a reason that they call ‘em TROLLS. You have something constructive to say, you actually want to dialogue, you want to discuss issues, feel free. You want to sit back and insult me, do it somewhere else.
On the off chance that you aren’t just a troll, I’ll try to explain one last time. I am a conservative. If the more conservative candidate is a dem, I’ll vote for him or her. If the more conservative candidate is a Pub, I’ll vote for him or her. What is so difficult to grasp about that?
Yeah, Animal Farm.
