Global warming hoax should be the top news today

gw“Illinois Governor seeks bribe” is dog bites man news. “Finally, scientists are starting to stand up to the man-made global warming thugs” is man bites dog news! [I am one of those “kooks” who has NEVER believed one little bit of this crap. I know how liberals work. They try to bully everyone into agreeing with them to start a stampede.]

“POZNAN, Poland – The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.  Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the obrt 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

“The U.S. Senate report is the latest evidence of the growing groundswell of scientific opposition rising to challenge the UN and Gore….”

  1. i agree with you that global warming has been pretty severely overstated and that the aspersionary tone adopted by many in relation to dissenters is an embarassment to the scientific community at large.

that being said, you don’t have to convince me that polar bears are becoming cannibals or that nyc will be underwater by centuries end in order for me to agree that we should do whatever we can (within fiscal reason) to minimize our impact on our planet.

i feel like we tend to overlook the commonground we probably have in terms of being good stewards because of some of the extreme (and obviously kooky) rhetoric on climate change.

  2. seth, I agree completely! Let’s clean up the environment, but skip the scare tactics. I recycle, and would like to do more. Let’s cut down pollution, and skip the alGore theatrics.
